There is a support
group for parents of children in the military,
specifically in Iraq and the Middle East. The group meets at

Clermont
County Community Services Inc. is a private,
nonprofit agency located in Batavia that serves as the local
community action agency and offers a variety of services for
individuals and families: weatherization, senior home repair,
youth services, lifeline (for help with phone service), emergency
assistance, energy assistance, childrens medical clinic, dental
clinic, and transportation. Visit CCCSI or
call 732-7182 to see if you are eligible.
If families need
help, they can contact the following local agencies: Milford/Miami
Ministry (248-1114); Inter
Parish Ministry (561-3932); the YWCA (732-0450);
and the Salvation Army (732-6328).

Karen Long has lived
in the Milford area for 23 years and lives in the city of Milford with
her husband and two daughters. She was the Director of a private nonprofit
agency in Batavia for 21 years, is a licensed social worker and is currently
working on a graduate degree in School Counseling at Xavier University.
